Canada, our northern neighbor, but how much do we know about our neighbor?


Here are a few fun facts about Canada!

  • Ottawa is the capital of Canada, and is the second oldest capital in the world.
  • Canada has the longest coast line of any country with 151,600 miles of coast!
  • Canada also has the longest highway in the world! The Trans-Canada Highway stretches over 4,725 miles!
  • Six cities in Canada have a population of over 1 million residents. This includes Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton and Ottawa.
  • Ocean Falls, British Columbia on overage has 330 days of rain per year.
  • Calgary is known for its Chinooks, a weather phenomenon that raises the temperature by 10 degrees in a matter of minutes!
  • The National Flag of Canada came into being in 1965.
